Augmentin 375 mg

Augmentin 375 Tablet has some side effects like nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhoea, and skin rash. Consult your doctor at the earliest if any of these effects persist for a long time or worsen. Inform your doctor if you are allergic to this medicine or any other antibiotics.     Augmentin 375 Tablet can be take with food as it improves absorption and decreases the risk of an upset stomach. Make sure you complete the course of treatment even if you feel better after taking a few doses of this medicine. Stopping the use of this medicine early may make the infection come back and harder to treat. Augmentin 375 Tablet is not recommend if you have problems like cholestasis (a condition where the normal flow of bile from the liver is interrupted) and other liver problems. This medicine may cause dizziness and sleepiness. Avoid driving vehicles or operating machines if you feel dizzy or sleepy. Augmentin 375 Tablet can make birth control pills less effective. You may be advise to follow different ways of birth control methods to prevent unwanted pregnancy. Augmentin 375 Tablet is safer for you if you can share your entire medical history with your doctor. This includes any previous episode of allergy, heart problem, a blood disorder, lung problem, stomach or intestinal problem, skin disorder, liver or kidney problems. Inform your doctor if you take any medicine. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or are breastfeeding.

Uses of Augmentin 375 Tablet

• Ear infection

Augmentin 375 Tablet is use to treat bacterial infections of the middle ear like otitis media (infection and swelling of your middle ear).

• Sinusitis

Augmentin 375 Tablet is use in the treatment of bacterial infections of the nose and nasal chamber like sinusitis. Sinusitis is an infection and swelling of the lining of the sinuses. Sinuses are hollow spaces in the bones around your nose that connect to the nose through small, narrow channels.

• Pharyngitis/Tonsilitis

Pharyngitis and tonsillitis are infections that cause swelling and soreness in your throat and tonsils. Augmentin 375 Tablet is use to treat pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and/or pharyngotonsillitis (when both, the throat and tonsils are infected).

• Skin and Soft tissue infections

Skin and soft tissue infections occur when the bacteria invade your skin and its supporting structures. Augmentin 375 Tablet is use to treat all skin infections cause by bacteria.

• Urinary Tract Infection

An infection in any part of your urinary system (kidneys, bladder, ureters, or urethra) is called a urinary tract infection (UTI). UTIs are caused by bacteria and in some cases, viruses or fungi. Augmentin 375 Tablet is used to treat urinary tract infections caused by bacteria.

• Lower Respiratory Tract Infection

Augmentin 375 Tablet is use to treat Pneumonia and Bronchitis Pneumonia is an infection of the air sacs in your lungs (either single or both lungs). It can be bacterial and viral. This medicine is used to treat pneumonia cause by bacteria. Bronchitis is the swelling and irritation of bronchial tubes that regulate air passage in your lungs. Augmentin 375 Tablet is used to treat bronchitis cause by bacteria.

Interactions of Augmentin 375mg

• Some medicines can affect the way Augmentin 375 tablet works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
• Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals your child is currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interactions.
• There is an increase risk of bleeding when take with medicines used to thin the blood like warfarin, acenocoumarol, it is advise to monitor the blood tests like PT-INR regularly.
• Increase side effects when take with methotrexate which is use in the treatment of cancer.
• Medicines use to treat gout like allopurinol or probenecid and medicines use to modify an immune response during an organ transplant like mycophenolate mofetil should be use cautiously.

Storage and disposal of Augmentin 375mg

• Store Augmentin 375 tablet in a cool and dry place, protected from direct sunlight, moisture and heat.
• Keep it away from children and pets. Do not use expired or damaged medicines.
• Discard any unused medicine properly, do not flush in the toilet or throw it into the drain.

Dosage of Augmentin 375mg Strip Of 10 Tablets

• Overdose

Symptoms of an overdose include stomach disturbances, vomiting, diarrhoea, drowsiness and fluid retention. If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.

• Missed a Dose

It is advise not to miss any dose of antibiotics as it can fail therapy. If you have missed taking any dose of Augmentin 375 tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose of this medicine to compensate for the missed one.
